Results Players Championship 21, Last 128: Anderson and Smith successfully through, Cross and Wade dumped out

The first round is complete in Barnsley at Players Championship 21. Gary Anderson and Michael Smith are among the players through but for Rob Cross and James Wade it’s an early exit.

Anderson had a tough first round on paper with Ryan Searle his opponent but he made light work of him winning 6-1.
Smith came through 6-3 against Devon Peterson while there was also wins for the likes of Dave Chisnall, Simon Whitlock and Adrian Lewis.
Cross like Anderson had a tough test first round and it was something he couldn’t get through. He lost 6-4 to the very dangerous Gabriel Clemens and as a result it is a barren first day for Voltage.
