Results Players Championship 3, Last 128: Ashton edges past Van den Bergh, Van Gerwen and Suljovic also impress

The first round is done at Players Championship 3 with some exceptional displays coming out of Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan.

Lisa Ashton was among those to produce with 'The Lancashire Rose' picking up a brilliant 6-4 win over Dimitri van den Bergh.

Ashton averaged 96 and hit a 120 finish en route to defeat Van den Bergh who is of course in the top 32 in the world.

Michael van Gerwen is the main name to make it through as he smashed Yordi Meeuwisse 6-1 with a 107.2 average, this was all with 'Magic' not producing his best darts averaging 73.

Mensur Suljovic produced a nine-dart finish against Jeff Smith as revealed earlier with a 107 average also in defeating Jeff Smith.

This meant a run on that streaming board of massive averages with Darius Labanauskas and Chris Dobey hitting the heights with 106 averages in their respective victories over Andy Hamilton and Madars Razma.

Daryl Gurney, Rob Cross and Gerwyn Price are all out though with Lisa Ashton potentially having an opportunity due to them being in her section to go on a real run today.
