Reyes was two sets down and seemingly heading towards the exit door; but he quickly turned it around showing some flashes of brilliance.
There was some needle between the pair early on and it dominated proceedings; but it didn't hinder 'The Spartan' who moves through.
Ilagan claimed the first set of the tie with the Spanish ace squandering seven set darts in the decider; which allowed the former to claim it despite hitting only 23 percent on the doubles.
After that there was needle between the pair as Ilagan went in for a handshake; which was soon refused by his opponent meaning it ensued from there with both players aiming to outdo each other.
It was 'The Gunner' who was outdoing Reyes as he won the third set 3-1 to double his lead. Only in the requisite set did Reyes find his way into the contest holding his nerve in the next set to halve the deficit and force the Filipino ace into sealing the deal.
Ilagan didn't and Reyes began to start taking control of the match slowly but surely forcing a last-set decider with seven 180s to his name.
Reyes continued his upturn in form as he doubled his advantage in the decider quite easily with a break. Ilagan gave himself a chance with a timely 180 but couldn't hit the 65 checkout allowing Reyes to claim victory.
