Rob Cross enjoyed a perfect start to his
qualifying tournament for the Poland Darts Masters on Wednesday. “Voltage” threw a
nine-darter in his opening match against Cristo Reyes.
The
nine-darter arrived in the very first leg of the clash with his Spanish opponent. He opened the leg with a 177, then fired in a 180 to leave 144. He then took out that checkout in three darts.
Unfortunately for Cross, the nine-darter wasn’t enough to secure the win. Although the first eight legs of the match all went with throw, he was broken in the ninth after an 11-darter from Reyes. “The Spartan” then closed it out 6-4 with a 14-darter.
It was the fifth time Cross had hit a nine-darter on the PDC circuit. The first came on the Challenge Tour in 2016. He then completed legs in nine darts twice on the Players Championship circuit in 2019 and 2020 respectively. During the 2025 Premier League Darts, the former world champion hit his first televised nine-darter.
