The next Quarter-Final has been confirmed at the Austrian Darts Championship with Rowby-John Rodriguez set to face off against Peter Wright in Vienna.
Rodriguez came through in a hard-fought tie against Mike de Decker to continue his run on home soil. It went to a decider with 'Little John' 5-4 up with throw but he was broken by 'The Real Deal' to force the final leg.
The Austrian held his nerve though to claim the victory in a match that also including four ton-plus checkouts and saw Rodriguez move through to his first
European Tour Quarter-Final since 2015.
Someone who has a lot of experience on the final day on European Tour events is
Peter Wright and he showed that in his tie with Joe Cullen.
Despite not being up to his best, 'Snakebite' delved deep and survived five match darts from his opponent to move through also in a deciding leg.
With Wright not particularly at his 100 percent best, Rodriguez may sense a chance and so may the Scot to make a statement this evening.
