Callan Rydz has claimed a second PDC ranking title of the year after denying Gabriel Clemens on Day Two of
Super Series 7 in Barnsley.
Rydz added his first
Players Championship title earlier this year but Clemens sees his wait continue with five finals seeing no titles and it is ‘The Riot’ who won 8-6.
Clemens doubled his advantage early on and took out 94 to extend his lead to 3-0. He missed one dart at tops though and Rydz broke for 3-2 which began his revival.
An 88 checkout on bull saw him level at 3-3 and he hit the front for the first time at 5-4. Clemens stayed in touch at 6-5 behind.
But missed two darts at doubles which allowed Rydz to go one away at 7-5. A 100 checkout kept Clemens hopes alive.
But with Clemens waiting on 54, it was a last dart 32 checkout for Rydz for the win.
