Callan Rydz is through to the second round of the 2021/22 PDC
World Darts Championship where he will take on Brendan Dolan after seeing Yuki Yamada in a 3-0 sets win.
Rydz averaged 91 with six 180's and a high checkout of 148 as he set up a clash with the in form History Maker.
An 82 checkout saw Rydz lead with a hold of throw. Yamada replied on double four to level.
Both exchanged 180's with Rydz looking to seal the set but he missed 81 to claim it only for Yamada to miss 39 himself to hold.
Rydz sat at 2/6 as Yamada took aim at double 16 once more which he claimed for 2-2. Yamada missed double 20 for the set off 96 but Rydz couldn't get a shot at 84.
The Japanese ace came back but again he couldn't claim the set and Rydz got a gift at double 12 to claim it.
Rydz went 2-0 up as he looked to go two sets up as Yamada sat at 2/15 and not taking his chances. He pinned double four to go one away from the win.
Yamada missed multiple opportunities for a break in the story of his game so far and Rydz claimed it. A 148 saw Rydz go one away before he claimed it on double 18.
