The semi-finals are here at the PDC
World Darts Championship with only two more days of darting action set to take place at the Alexandra Palace.
Only evening sessions remain and two semi-finals dominate the order of play on Sunday evening with two former World Champions and two players aiming to shed their nearly tags.
The latter are set for the first semi-final as 11-time major champion,
James Wade who has never achieved his potential in this tournament will aim to make the final for the first time.
It is the first since 2013 in terms of a run to the semi-final and he will aim to go all the way if he can get past
Michael Smith and add an elusive part of his collection.
While Wade as expected has never got out of second gear and has done a Machine like job on the field, Smith has been producing some of the best darts seen on the stage at times.
In defeating Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price, he has earmarked himself as a contender but can he finally translate that to a World title by reaching his second Ally Pally final?
Following that are two players who know how to win on the illustrious stage. Two-time back-to-back winner,
Gary Anderson faces off against one-time World Champion,
Peter Wright in an all Scottish duel.
Anderson like Wade is just a winner and despite writing himself off at every juncture - he has reached another semi-final and will aim to reach back-to-back finals and add a title that would really put him amongst the greats.
While Wright lifted the title two years ago and after a scare against Callan Rydz will hope to live up to his favourite tag he has now claimed and go one away from levelling up Anderson's tally himself.
