After the first night of tantalizing tungsten in Leicester comes the end of the first round at the
World Grand Prix with
Gerwyn Price among those in action.
Price who reached the final last year in losing to Jonny Clayton will face Martin Schindler in the penultimate game of the evening before
Michael Smith will take on Nathan Aspinall in one of the picks of the opening round and a tie which could see a seed in 'Bully Boy' in real danger.
Madars Razma will make his World Grand Prix debut to begin the night and faces Ryan Searle. Andrew Gilding after a superb 2022 season makes his return to the double start format and faces Ross Smith.
Danny Noppert is seen by many as a potential outside shout this week in Leicester and faces Gabriel Clemens in his opener tonight. While in a real tie of the night,
Joe Cullen faces Damon Heta in a treat albeit in the shorter format.
The same can be said for former winner Daryl Gurney who faces
Rob Cross - another seed to watch in terms of falling early.
Martin Lukeman will again face James Wade in a major debut after earlier this season at the World Matchplay where nerves played a part. Some sections see 'The Machine' as being in danger too but can the former 'Smash' his way into contention.
