Schedule Friday afternoon at Flanders Darts Trophy 2024 including Scott Williams, Daryl Gurney and Gabriel Clemens

The Euro Tour season continues Friday afternoon with the Flanders Darts Trophy. The tenth Euro Tour season of the season gets underway at 12 p.m. in the Belgian port city of Antwerp.

Jitse van der Wal will make his debut on the Euro Tour. Van der Wal will face Sebastian Bialecki, the winner of the East Europe Qualifier.

Then it's the turn of Scott Williams, the semifinalist of the last World Championship. Williams hasn't done much after that. Two quarterfinals on the Players Championship circuit are the highlights of an otherwise poor season. Williams had not actually qualified for this tournament, but was allowed to play as a substitute due to the cancellations of Gary Anderson and Nathan Aspinall. 'Shaggy' faces Marko Kantele in the first round.

Jody Tobback is the first Belgian debutant of the afternoon. Tobback was one of the winners at the Host Nation Qualifier on Thursday. That earned the Belgian a meeting with Alan Soutar. Next up is the second Belgian debutant. Luc Bogaert also made it past the Host Nation Qualifier. Bogaert will play at his Euro Tour debut against Luke Woodhouse.

In the fifth match of the afternoon, Krzysztof Ratajski makes his appearance. The Pole, who only made it to the third round of a Euro Tour tournament once this year, will face Robert Owen. The Welshman lost last week in the second round of the German Darts Championship against Gian van Veen, after beating Ratajski's compatriot Krzysztof Kciuk.

Jermaine Wattimena will be in action in the sixth match of the afternoon session. 'The Machine Gun' lays on against Brian Raman, also one of the four Host Nation Qualifiers. For Wattimena it is his fifth Euro Tour tournament of the season. At the beginning of the year, the Dutchman cleverly reached two Euro Tour quarterfinals.

Gabriel Clemens will compete against Martin Lukeman. Clemens has had little success on the Euro Tour lately. In his last four appearances he stranded in the first round. With Lukeman he will meet a player who has not yet won on the Euro Tour this year.

The afternoon session will conclude with a meeting between Daryl Gurney and Ritchie Edhouse. Gurney did not miss a Euro Tour tournament yet this year. Last week 'Superchin' recorded his best result of the season by reaching the semifinals. Edhouse reached the quarterfinals of a Euro Tour tournament twice earlier this year, but lost in the first round each of the last two Euro Tours.

The Flanders Darts Trophy is scheduled from Friday, September 6 to Sunday, September 8 at the Antwerp XPO in Antwerp. The first round will be played on Friday, after which the 16 winners of the first round will take on the top 16 seeded players on Saturday. On Sunday afternoon, the third round is scheduled, before the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final are completed on Sunday evening.

TV and live stream

The Flanders Darts Trophy will be broadcast on PDC TV. As usual with Euro Tour tournaments, the Flanders Darts Trophy consists of three tournament days. The afternoon sessions start daily at 12:00, while the evening sessions start at 18:00.

The first round will take place on Friday. The 16 Order of Merit qualifiers and the winners from the various qualifying tournaments then make their appearance. The top-16 seeded players enter the tournament on Saturday in the second round. Sunday will see the denouement of the tournament, starting with the third round in the afternoon session. Sunday evening will be followed by the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals.

Distribution of prize money

At this Euro Tour tournament, a total of £175,000 in prize money will be divided among the 48 participants. They will receive at least 1250 pounds in starting money. The top-16 seeded players who enter the Flanders Darts Trophy from the second round will receive 2,500 pounds anyway.

They do - like the 16 Order of Merit qualifiers starting in the first round - have to win their first match in order for the prize money to count toward the world rankings and the other rankings. The winner of the Flanders Darts Trophy eventually goes home with the top prize of 30,000 pounds.
