Schedule Friday afternoon at UK Open Darts 2024: Beaton, Whitlock, Van Veen all in action during frenetic first rounds in Minehead

Friday morning at 11:00 the 22nd edition of the UK Open will start in the English coastal town of Minehead. Dubbed the FA Cup of Darts, it sees action all over the boards throughout a frenetic opening session.

The UK Open is a unique tournament on the PDC calendar. Not only is it the event with the largest field of participants. The "open draw" is also unique to the UK Open. After the third round, there is a new draw after each round. This can lead to clashes between world class players early in the tournament.

The 32 world top players do have the first three rounds free. During the afternoon session, 126 players compete for a spot among the final 64. These players enter in different rounds and play on eight different boards.

Haupai Puha facing Jelle Klaasen kicks off proceedings on the main stage as Steve Beaton and Jim Williams are also among the leading lights involved. Gian van Veen and Simon Whitlock are also among those involved elsewhere with the Main Stage being in the main arena, Stage Two in the famous Red's Bar and the multi-board room hosting boards 3-8 with both Tour Card Holders and Riley's Qualifiers as well as those that have clinched their spots from the secondary tour all in action this afternoon.
