The European Tour is set to conclude for the 2021 season with the Gibraltar Darts Trophy returning to the calendar with Friday’s afternoon session.
The opening of the tournament as usual sees the second round set up before the seeded players come in with a host of well known names set to take to the oche on Friday afternoon.
It all begins with Irish prospect Keane Barry who faces Nordic and Baltic qualifier Andreas Harrysson. The winner gets Danny Noppert with the Dutchman returning after withdrawing from the Hungarian Darts Trophy due to the passing of his father.
Speaking of Dutchman, Martijn Kleermaker faces Joe Murnan with the victor claiming a tie with top seed Joe Cullen. Adam Hunt faces Geert Nentjes following that with Damon Heta the seeded player awaiting.
Adam Smith-Neale makes his European Tour debut facing the first Host Nation qualifier in Justin Broton. Jonny Clayton awaits the winner.
Following that, Ryan Murray faces Ted Evetts and Rob Cross takes on Patrik Kovacs with Dutch World Cup pairing Dirk van Duijvenbode and Michael van Gerwen, the seeded players awaiting.
While fresh from his World Cup triumph, Scottish hero John Henderson will face a tough test in Croatian thrower, Boris Krcmar. James Wade is the seed awaiting the winner.
Finally Mervyn King will aim to quell the dreams of home hope, Craig Galliano with Brendan Dolan awaiting the winner.
