At the upcoming
World Darts Championship, which will take place in London from December 15 to January 3,
Martin Schindler will enter for the first time as one of the top-32 seeded players.
"I'm happy to start directly in the second round," Schindler said in an interview with PDC Europe. "The highlight of course will again be the atmosphere in the Ally Pally. It's just something very special there. And I'm looking forward to the great support from the German fans who will be in London again in large numbers this year."
The German fans are very important to The Wall. "The energy of the German audience gives me strength for my competitions. I think my walk-on song also played a role in the good performance. With that you are immediately warmed up when you go on stage."
Finally, the German summed up his 2022 year. "I think I can be very satisfied with this year. Many strong matches on the European Tour and Pro Tour, reaching the top 32 in the world rankings and qualifying for almost every major tournament is a good result."
"The only thing I want to improve next year is my performance on the major majors and get far there as well," Schindler concluded.
