'Scotty 2 Hotty' Scott Waites wins another PDC title after 15 years

Scott Waites took the overall victory at the 20th tournament of the PDC Challenge Tour. 'Scotty 2 Hotty' won over Michael Unterbuchner in the final on Sunday afternoon to win a PDC title for the second time in his career after his sensational Grand Slam title in 2010.
From 2004 to 2020, Waites was active on the BDO/WDF circuit, after which he made the move to the PDC. The Englishman was immediately successful, winning a Tour Card when he participated in the Q-School. After the 2023 season, however, Waites lost his Tour Card again.
He did not manage to earn back his Tour Card after that, so he has had to seek refuge on the Challenge Tour since 2024. It has not been very successful yet. In 2024, he earned only 800 pounds in prize money, with one appearance in the last sixteen as a disappointing highlight. This year, however, Waites already made it to a Challenge Tour final, and on Friday he was still in the semifinals. At Challenge Tour 20, however, he hit the ground running, taking home the top prize of 2,500 pounds.
Waites did not actually run into any trouble during the tournament. He started the day with a 5-0 victory over Conor Roberts, and then also tied Petros Christodoulou (5-2), Michael Flynn (5-2), Graham Hall (5-2) and Lee Evans (5-3) for a spot in the quarterfinals.
In the last eight, Patrick Dekker was brushed aside 5-1, before beating Ted Evetts 5-3 to secure his spot in the final. At the other end of the schedule, Unterbuchner won over Jaikob Selby-Ribas (5-2), Jamai van den Herik (5-4), Daniel Klose (5-1), Richie Burnett (5-1), Danny van Trijp (5-4) and Alexander Merkx (5-3) to qualify for the final.
In the final, Unterbuchner took a 2-0 lead with an 11-darter and a 14-darter, but Waites recovered with a 17-darter and a 13-darter. The two-time Lakeside champion then ran out to a 4-2 lead via two 14-darters, before Waites clinched the title with a 16-darter.

He comes across as a jokey person but it's a class A piece of sheet, miserable as hell and completely full of himself. I don't know anyone who can say anything positive about this goof. - Absolutely disgraceful, really I've said many times that ITV coverage is superior to SKY and SKY know that. Jacqui was absolutely fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. Emma from SKY is more interested in what to wear than learning about darts. Chris Mason is absolutely the best and greatest commentator on TV, even better than Alex Jacques on F1 and Alex is absolutely brilliant. It is criminal that Chris and Alan will probably never be on TV again, what an amazing waste of talent. Poor Ned, who is just as excellent and knowledgeable on darts as the Tour de France has lost both gigs this year. The whole ITV team from presentation, commentary, production the whole team will definitely be missed and I have enjoyed every minute of their coverage. Thank you so much. John Part is the ONLY decent and knowledgeable person on SKY. I liked Glenn Durrant the player but he is awkward and dreadful on commentary all the rest are utterly useless.richieburnettrocks24-11-2025
- Gurney is off form and will completely crack and have a meltdown as the crowd will be relentless, although I think Beau will beat him anyway. I also think Fallon will beat the Helium voiced Chisnall. Poor Gemma has a toughie Peter Wright is also completely off the boil but will probably squeeze past Lisa.
