Searle set to face Hughes in first ProTour final of 2023 at Players Championship 1

The final is set at Players Championship 1 with Ryan Searle set to take on Jamie Hughes shortly in the first ProTour decider of the season in Barnsley.

Searle is a player who always produces his best on the ProTour and at the very least defends his money from 12 months ago where he also made the final of PC1. He saw off Jonny Clayton who could not produce a late fightback to see off 'Heavy Metal'.

While Hughes is into only his second final ever on the PDC Tour and a first since winning the Czech Darts Open in 2019. He saw off debutant, Dylan Slevin 7-2.

The top young Irish talent couldn't reproduce the form he has shown all day on his first foray of PDC Tour action with Hughes producing some of his best darts in a long time after injury troubles.

His combination finishing in particular was impressing with 120 and 106 the highlight but can he add to his PDC title tally today?
