The fight for major glory at Butlins, Minehead is hotting up and the quarter-finals for the 2025 UK Open are set, including some incredible intriguing contests for Sunday afternoon.
Headlining the quarter-finals is a battle between Gian van Veen and Luke Littler, in a rematch of the 2023 World Youth Championship final. Littler has survived two tricky tests so far, seeing off Peter Wright on Friday and Krzysztof Ratajski on Saturday evening, but it's arguable the performance of Van Veen in his last 16 tie, that stands out the most as the Dutch prodigy took a 10-9 victory averaging 109.9.
Elsewhere, world number one Luke Humphries, who has taken 20 of his last 22 legs at the 2025 UK Open in 10-0 and 10-2 demolitions over Ryan Searle and Ryan Joyce respectively, now has the tricky test of the vastly experienced former UK Open champion James Wade.
Michael Smith and Nathan Aspinall came into this event with their form a little uncertain. Both though, have brought their best darts to Minehead this weekend and are into the quarter-finals. In the last eight, Smith is set to do battle with Welshman Jonny Clayton, whilst for Aspinall, Josh Rock is the next hurdle to overcome.
