"She does the exhibition work, the media, and she does the TV opportunities like Bullseye": Nathan Aspinall urges Beau Greaves to become better version of Fallon Sherrock

Nathan Aspinall has no doubt whatsoever about Beau Greaves’ qualities. The former World Matchplay champion is convinced that the Englishwoman can not only become the first woman to break into the elite of men’s darts, but even win a PDC major. However, he does have one important piece of advice for the three-time Women’s World Matchplay winner: work on raising your profile off the oche as well.

Greaves made history once again last weekend by winning the Women’s World Matchplay for the third time. In a nail-biting final at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, the 22-year-old Englishwoman defeated her compatriot Fallon Sherrock 6-5, thereby underlining once more her status as the best female darts player of the moment.
Moreover, this is not the only milestone Greaves has achieved this year. Earlier, she became the first woman ever to win a PDC ProTour tournament at Players Championship 11. She also threw a nine-darter on the PDC Tour and became the first female player ever to qualify for a Euro Tour event. According to Aspinall, these achievements demonstrate that Greaves has everything it takes to challenge the very best in the world.
Nevertheless, the current world number sixteen still sees room for improvement in one key area. In his view, Greaves should make herself more visible outside of matches. Sherrock ironically was used as the example as he spoke to 247bet as to how it should be. Aspinall said that Greaves should take the exhibition work and Bullseye and everything that goes with it to grow her darting brand.
“Beau’s a really nice lady away from the oche. I just think she needs to get herself out there a bit more. I've tried to get her on some of my exhibitions, but she's never really interested in doing it.
“If I were her manager, I'd be telling her to put herself out there a bit more My advice for her would be to look at Fallon. What a great woman Fallon is, a great player, but she gets herself out there too. She does the exhibition work, she does the media, and she does the TV opportunities like Bullseye.
“I don't know why Beau doesn’t want to get involved in that stuff. Maybe she's quite a nervous person? But I just think Beau needs to take that next step now, to grow her popularity, which will only help her game.”

Comparison with Sherrock
It’s easy to draw a comparison with Fallon Sherrock. Sherrock rose to global stardom during the 2020 World Championship by becoming the first woman ever to win a match on the stage at Alexandra Palace. Victories over Ted Evetts and Mensur Suljovic made her a household name overnight, even outside the world of darts.
According to Aspinall, Greaves could ultimately go even further than Sherrock in sporting terms given that she has a Tour Card also which Sherrock never has. “Yes, Beau is an incredible, unbelievable player. I said that even before she won a Tour Card that she was going to be the first lady in our game to break into the top 32 in the world. And I still stand by that.

Aspinall also sees a tipping point in theory which is when Sherrock can qualify for every European Tour and make a splash that way. Beau n Arrow has often struggled since making her first bow in terms of getting through the rigorous school that is the Euro Tour qualifiers. She finally got there last time out but likely won't need to going forward.

“It's tough for her because, obviously, she's still got to qualify for European Tours at the moment. I think that when she gets high enough in the ProTour rankings, and she's got immediate entry into all the European Tours, then she will smash the top 32.
Nobody wants to draw Greaves
According to Nathan Aspinall, Beau Greaves now commands enormous respect among the men's professional players. In fact, many are actively hoping to avoid her in the draw at the biggest tournaments.
“She's so good at this game. She’s already won a ProTour event this year, which is something no woman's ever done. I’m not going to lie, she scares a lot of the top boys on the tour. No one wants to draw her. At the Worlds last year, no one wanted to be the one to get her in the first round, and that's a testament to how good she is.

Aspinall believes a major title is possible
While many pundits still question whether a woman can ever win a PDC major, Aspinall is unequivocal. Albeit Aspinall does see perhaps why it might take time due to the long format.
“I don't see why she doesn’t go on to compete for something like the World Matchplay or the World Championship, because I believe the hardest tournament to win is the ProTour event. I know it's not on screen, and there's no crowd or anything, but those days are absolutely brutal. I've played about 200 of them, and I've only won seven. They are so hard.
“One big problem that Beau has is that she's probably not used to playing games of that magnitude, as in that length. A lot of the men are used to playing long-format games. She's probably not at that stage yet, but in time she certainly will be. So yeah, I think she can win a major. I really can.”

- I really enjoyed the Women's Matchplay, Beau seemed slightly nervous but when it mattered, she hit the big scores and required check outs. Both Gemma and Fallon had her on the ropes and were equally unlucky. I wonder what ever happened to Gemma's partner Stephanie Smee, she was a decent player that just disappeared. Good to see her. I would like to see a longer format maybe over Saturday and Sunday. - Ultimately, Vin man knew when to call it quits. Barney was excellent and one of the greatest darts player ever, but he just doesn't have that ability anymore. Vinman working in media is only saying what he thinks and I like how he doesn't sugar coat things and is completely honest and direct with his comments. - I agree that this season the format was a bit stale, it would be better to have some new faces rotated in through the season. I also think they should vary the format a bit as it doesn't count for rankings, they could have different varieties of 501 (e.g. double start) or just different challenges.mikedarts03-07-2026
- I don't really understand why its an issue that Littler doesn't play in the events, they are barely televised so there is no draw for marketing and it gives the other players a better chance to define their narratives. The events are more of a throw back to old events.
