Fallon Sherrock hasn't been in the best form by her own admission during her World Series of Darts year and speaking on SENZ Radio, she admitted that it was a sigh of relief to finally win for the first time since Copenhagen as the New Zealand Darts Masters approaches.
"I just wanted to come over and play well and I didn't play well in the first lot and I was like try to redeem yourself so when I go the victory it was a sigh of relief as all the pressure was off me. Went into the next one and Gerwyn hit everything, I was a deer in the headlights and I couldn't do much," said Sherrock on Afternoons with Staffy.
Speaking on some of her history making exploits, 'The Queen of the Palace' spoke about her love affair with bullseye.
"I think these history making moments are meant to be because if you try and see the amount of times I hit a bullseye, it doesn't happen but I seem to like hitting them when I need them. I'm just lucky enough."
Price
Facing Gerwyn Price in Wollongong, she didn't get his usual 'antics' and she discussed potentially why.
"I think it's because they actually respect me. That's what it is. I'm not saying they respect each other but they know they will play their own darts and I'll ignore anything they do.
As well as speaking on Australia and New Zealand, she spoke about her life away from the oche and the sacrifices of a life in the big time.
"I can't take my little boy with me all the time. I'm waiting till he's a bit older to take him but it's definitely harder because I get to see him in the week if I'm not away at the weekend. He's at school most of the time."
Superstitions
But one aspect doesn't change and that is her darting superstitions which she explained.
"If I use a toilet cubicle and I win a game, I have to keep using that toilet. I've got to wear these shoes and if I break them I have to go to the same shop and get the same lot. Certain trousers I have to wear, it's quite bad. Same with how I have my hair, if I win a game I have to have it again."
Finally she was asked about who she would love to play in the World final.
"I'd want another go at Michael (van Gerwen). I think that would be very funny."
