Michael Smith claimed back-to-back Players Championship titles during the Winter Series with his victory over Jose de Sousa on Wednesday after defeating Jermaine Wattimena earlier in the week to break his title drought.
As a result, Smith becomes the latest player to achieve the feat of winning them on consecutive days and it is an illustrious list. Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson have of course achieved this accolade but also recently, it has been achieved by the likes of Krzysztof Ratajski, James Wade, Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright.
Going back, it has also been achieved by Robert Thornton and Jamie Caven previously as well as Wes Newton. Can Smith make it a hat-trick of titles later today?
