Connor Scutt has been one of the leading lights this season dominating the Challenge Tour and he brought that excellent form onto the big stage routing Ben Robb on Monday night at the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship.
Robb despite showing promise on the World Series previously has never really hit the mark when it comes to Ally Pally and that continues. Albeit it was going to be an uphill struggle against a player full of confidence who won 3-0 with a 102 average, four 180's and 56% on the doubles.
A statement made also with Damon Heta up next who could be in serious danger if Scutt repeats that with a place in the third round firmly on his mind. Known as 'The Sniper', he brought expert precision onto the Ally Pally stage.

Robb was at sea early as Scutt headed into an early lead. He was averaging 96 and hit 60% on the doubles. 'Big Rig' couldn't get going and Scutt punished him in three straight legs to hit the front 1-0.
He wrapped up the second set from there 3-1 pinning a 76 checkout with his average only increasing. He went up to 100.7 in claiming the second to go one away from the win.
It was even better in the final set as Scutt topped 102 and hit double 16 to start for a 13-darter for 1-0. He hit 170 to leave double eight and hit double eight to break before sealing the win with a 16-darter.
Firmly a player to watch over the next few weeks at the Alexandra Palace and the best display thus far from any player who has graced the hallowed stage. Whilst Heta has enjoyed his time more on the big stage, he will know himself that a big test awaits.
