The Welshman defeated Gary Blades (5-2), Alan Tabern (5-4), Matthew Edgar (5-2), Adam Hunt (5-1), Carl Wilkinson (5-3) and Barrie Bates (5-2) to claim the top spot. Lewis averaged over 90 in five of his six matches, including a superb 104 average in his last match against Bates.

Hunt and Tabern became second and third respectively, which means they also progress to the second phase. Edgar has to await his fate, as only the five best fourth-placed players going through.

The broadcast starts daily at 09:30 am. All matches can be viewed via the streaming service PDC TV. The top three players in each group, along with the five best fourth-placed players, will qualify for the 35-player second phase. The first phase will be played from August 31 till September 28.
