The sixth night of
Premier League Darts play at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham produced
Gerwyn Price as the big winner. The Welshman was able to deal with young sensation
Luke Littler in the final, climbing to third place in the standings.
The evening began with some attractive quarterfinals. Luke Littler defeated
Luke Humphries 6-4 in an exciting match.
Rob Cross was in top form and dealt with
Chris Dobey 6-2. Gerwyn Price recorded a 6-4 victory over
Stephen Bunting and
Michael van Gerwen beat
Nathan Aspinall by the same figures.
In the semifinals, Littler continued his strong form by beating Cross 6-3. He threw an impressive average of 107.82. Price outclassed Van Gerwen 6-1 and recorded an average of 107.25, underlining his excellent form.
The final between Luke Littler and Gerwyn Price promised fireworks, but in the end it was Price who prevailed. With a 6-3 victory, 'The Iceman' secured the win in Nottingham and earned important points for the standings.
Due to his strong performance, Price moved up to third place in the standings, while Littler is the new leader thanks to his final spot. Van Gerwen had to give up one spot and now holds the fourth spot.
Next week the roadshow moves to Cardiff for the seventh round of play, a special night for Gerwyn Price. 'The Iceman' plays at home and will take on Rob Cross. Michael van Gerwen will meet Luke Humphries, while Luke Littler will take on Nathan Aspinall. For Stephen Bunting, this round offers another chance to finally get his first points, he plays against Chris Dobey.
