Stephen Bunting qualified for the last sixteen at the 2025 World Darts Championship without much trouble. 'The Bullet' had only one set of real trouble with Madars Razma and triumphed 4-1 in sets.
It was a fine performance by Bunting, who despite a finishing percentage of 34 percent still recorded an average of 100.06. With this win, Bunting ensures an English friendly in Ally Pally, as Luke Woodhouse will be the opponent in the next round.
The first set went 3-1 to Bunting after the former Lakeside champion notched a fine 113 finish in the fourth leg of the set. He then convincingly took the second set 3-0 by throwing a 14-darter, 15-darter and a 13-darter.

Set three really should have been for Bunting as well, but he missed a full hand to take the set 3-2. Those misses were punished by Razma, who threw out 119 to return the tension for a moment.
Bunting dashed all hopes of a comeback by convincingly winning the fourth set. Through two 15-darters and a 13-darter, Bunting gained a 3-1 lead in sets.
A 96 finish then also brought Bunting into the lead in set five, but he missed four chances to also grab an immediate break. Razma kept his own leg with a 54 checkout, before a 14-darter put Bunting within one leg of winning. Razma briefly kept himself in the match with a 149 finish, before Bunting still managed to decide the match with a 15-darter.
