Peter Wright is the latest big name to be sent packing at the
Grand Slam of Darts after
Stephen Bunting dumped out the reigning European Champion on Tuesday night in Wolverhampton.
Bunting in particular on the ton plus checkouts was in devastatingly good form as he sealed a 5-3 win and progresses to the Last 16 for the first time since 2018 as Wright who despite never winning it has achieved success since won't now be seen until the World Championship.

Those ton plus checkouts featured a 107, 103 and 101 as he went 3-1 up. He missed a match dart on double 16 which allowed Wright to prolong the tie, but 'The Bullet' surged through in the end in Group E.
He was joined by Danny Noppert who won through from Group F. 'The Freeze' was facing off against Brendan Dolan and was aiming to join Andrew Gilding in the Last 16.
Noppert found his way through to topping the group as he won 5-4 with a 124 checkout on the bull to seal maximum points over Dolan, Gilding and Muramatsu as he has shown once again his superb form this week similar to Bunting and will be a danger in the latter stages.
