Josh Rock is one of the most promising players in the darts world. The Northern Irishman was already under contract with darts manufacturer Mission Darts at a young age. However, this will now come to an end, the two parties have mutually agreed.

Rock has been known for several years as a huge up and coming talent in the PDC. The 23-year-old Northern Irishman won the PDC Youth World Championship in 2022, in that tournament for players under the age of 23 he defeated Scot Nathan Girvan 6-1 in the final. He won no fewer than five tournaments on the PDC Development Tour that same year, his first also as a Tour Card holder. In 2022 he also won his first tournament on the Players Championship, in the final of the 28th tournament he was too strong for Luke Humphries 8-5.

The sky seems to be the limit for 'Rocky', who last year added two further Players Championship titles to his record of achievements and also won the Dutch Darts Championship, a tournament on the European Tour. In the final in Rosmalen, Rock beat Jonny Clayton 8-4.

Truthfully, at the majors Rock has struggled to replicate the same kind of success as of yet. For example, at the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship he had to drop out after a 4-2 defeat in the third round against eventual semi-finalist Chris Dobey.

As mentioned though, that future won't be with Mission Darts. "We would like to thank Josh Rock for all of his efforts with #TeamMission over the last three years," writes a statement from Mission on social media. "All the best for the future, Josh!"

As for where his future lies? All signs seem to point to Rock joining Target Darts, but we will find out for definite in time.
