Taylor doesn't write off chances for Lewis: "He is a little bit of an outsider for me"

Phil Taylor recently joined the Darts Show podcast for their preview ahead of the PDC World Darts Championship and ran through his picks for the tournament with Gary Anderson and Adrian Lewis in particular not counted out.

"Dimitri (van den Bergh) seems to be playing well, Gerwyn Price has dropped off a little bit. I think he is burning out a little bit, Simon Whitlock's making a surge, Adrian Lewis is a little bit of an outsider for me because his back is against the wall and everytime he has had his back against the wall, he seems to do well," said Taylor to The Darts Show podcast.

"Gary Anderson is another player. So I would say, Gary, Ade, Dimitri, I mean all these players, Jose de Sousa. What can I say, there's that many really."

Thoughts on Ashton and Hedman

Taylor also discussed Lisa Ashton and Deta Hedman's involvement this year at the showpiece event.

"Lisa can beat anybody and she has beat anybody. The more experience she is getting, she is getting better as well. Deta can play, she was a lot better a few years ago but obviously she has qualified so she must be playing ok. Any man that draws her will be dreading it, trust me, they will have sleepless nights that week."
