The PDC World Darts Championship is the biggest darts tournament of the year. Every darter with any kind of ambition these days dreams of one day throwing on the oche at London's Alexandra Palace. For fourteen of the 96 participants at the 2025 World Darts Championship, it will be the first time they will get to take the stage in Ally Pally.
Wesley Plaisier and James Hurrell forced qualification for the World Darts Championship through the Pro Tour. Plaisier is one of three Dutch debutants at this year's edition of the World Darts Championship. For Noa-Lynn van Leuven and Alexander Merkx it will also be their first time in North London. Van Leuven qualified through the Women's Series and Merkx forced a spot through the Challenge Tour.
Van Leuven and Merkx are among the 12 international qualifiers who may make their debut. The other debutants are Ryusei Azemoto, Stefan Bellmont, Joe Comito, Kai Gotthardt, Romeo Grbavac, Rhys Griffin, Lok Yin Lee, Niko Springer, Rashad Sweeting and Alexis Toylo.
Bellmont and Sweeting provide another first in the history of the PDC World Darts Championship. Bellmont is the first-ever Swiss participant, while Sweeting is the first ever qualifier to hail from the Bahamas.
