The Final Stage has its first eight players at PDC European Q-School in Kalkar which is led by Max Hopp who will look to make his return to the main PDC Tour after a number of years away.
Hopp leads the eight automatic qualifiers from Day One defeating Patrick Tringler in the final. He is joined by a smattering of interesting names with some old and some new.
Gilbert van der Meijden impressed the most today average wise and the Dutchman hit over a 101 during the final round defeating Maximilian Czerwinski. He also qualifies outright. As does Stefaan Henderyck adding a Belgian into the mix after he defeated Benjamin Pratnemer.
Jeroen Mioch also is through. As is a Czech star in Dalibor Smolik. A Spaniard to add to the mix in Jorge Garcia del Pozo. While Leon Weber and Tomislav Rosandic of Croatia complete the line-up.
It was a mixed day for the big names. Many of whom remain poised ready in the Order of Merit. Those include Benjamin Pratnemer who leads as well as Kai Gotthardt, Jarno Bottenberg, John Michael, Tytus Kanik and Cor Dekker.
Brian Raman is also in contention while Noa-Lynn van Leuven and Damian Mol are two of the leading protagonists with work to do to reach the Final Stage over the next two days either Order of Merit or outright.
