James Wade is through to the final day of the 2025 UK Open but he did this not without jostling with the crowd who he called out as he booked a tie with Luke Humphries.

Facing Cameron Menzies, the interviewer quipped that they were singing Flower of Scotland to try and get behind their man but of course it didn't work and Wade dubbed them 'silly and selfish'.
As well as alluding to the fact that they made have had too much to drink and that those sort of fans support those sorts of players.
"They're idiots in my opinion. It's not about darts then is it, it's about people in the crowd being a little bit silly and being a little ostentatious. Too many lemonades and too many bubbles in their lemonades. It tends to be that kind of person that cheer on those players, it's a bit silly and selfish.
But it wasn't just fans that were on his radar as Wade also took umbrage to the Premier League Darts picks as he said two players in particular were part of 'something bigger than darts' over earning their right.
"I want to be back in the Premier League and think I will be back in the Premier League in the next 12 months but have to do something drastic to earn and justify that. I'm not going to get what some players get via a dust off and an invitation. I've got to stamp my rights down.

"I screwed up last year. I think the Premier League was really open for a lot of players. Two players that got in the Premier League because they're part of something bigger than darts. I think if I'd had a good World Championship which I haven't had for three years, I'd have had a good chance at getting it."
"No-one gave the PDC or Sky any other reason to put two players in who controversially should or shouldn't have been in and lots of had a chance to do it."
