THROWBACK VIDEO: Nicholson wins 2010 Players Championship Finals

In another throwback video ahead of the Players Championship Finals which takes place this weekend from Minehead, we take a look back at Paul Nicholson's win in 2010.
Nicholson in this tournament had to play the Quarter-Final, Semi-Final and Final in the same day; with victories over Adrian Lewis and a famous win over Phil Taylor.
He followed this up; with a sensational 13-11 victory over Mervyn King in the final. He moved into the top 16 in the Order of Merit; but became the only player to not be in the Premier League after winning a TV title in history.

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
