On Friday, December 15, the 31st edition of the World Darts Championship at the PDC begins. Ahead of the start of this tournament, Dartsnews.com looks back on beautiful and remarkable events from the history of the World Championship.
Raymond van Barneveld made history at the 2009 World Darts Championship by throwing the first nine-darter ever at this tournament. Dutchman threw his perfect leg against compatriot Jelle Klaasen.
The five-time world champion threw his nine darter in classic fashion via two 180s and a 141 finish. A year later, Van Barneveld recorded another perfect leg at the World Championship in his match against Brendan Dolan.
