February was usually the month that the Premier League Darts would begin but due to the Coronavirus pandemic, that is not the case. As a result, DartsNews takes a look back at some of the best matches and moments from previous years.
In the first Throwback, it is the turn of the first ever final back in 2005.
The field back then consisted of Phil Taylor , Colin Lloyd , Peter Manley, Roland Scholten, Mark Dudbridge, John Part and Wayne Mardle.
After twelve league games, Taylor, Lloyd, Manley and Scholten managed to reach the play-offs. The final evening took place back then in Manchester.
In the first semifinal, Taylor was too strong for Roland Scholten 13-11, while Lloyd dealt with Manley 13-7. The final turned out to be a lot less exciting. Taylor defeated Lloyd 16-4 to win the first edition of the Premier League.
