From December 15, the 30th edition of the World Darts Championship at the PDC begins. In the run-up to the start of this tournament DartsNews looks back on the best moments from the history of the World Championship.

Raymond van Barneveld wrote history during the 2009 World Darts Championship by throwing the first nine-dart finish ever at the PDC edition of this tournament. He threw his perfect leg against compatriot Jelle Klaasen.

The five-time world champion threw his nine-dart finish in classic fashion via two 180s and a 141 finish. A year later, Van Barneveld recorded another perfect leg at the World Championship in his match against Brendan Dolan.
