Michael van Gerwen was at his brilliant best last year by hitting a nine-darter without any 180s at all during the Players Championship series.
Van Gerwen's nine-darter was thrown in the final leg in his match against Jamie Hughes. He started the ninth leg with 177 and 174 and then ended it off with a 150 finish with a treble 19, treble 19 and double 18.
A week prior he also produced another special leg in the form of hitting treble 19, treble 16 and double 18 for the 141.
The three-time World Champion was the first darts player to ever throw a nine-dart finish this way during a streamed or televised tournament.
