Tickets for World Darts Championship are flying out the door: 40,000 tickets sold in half an hour

Ticket sales for the 2025 World Darts Championship started last Monday for people who have taken out a membership with PDC TV. The PDC reports via their socials that interest in the event has never been higher.

''After record interest levels, 40,000 tickets for the 2024/25 Paddy Power World Darts Championship have sold in the first 30 minutes of pre-sale, but there are still tickets available for all sessions,'' the association writes on its social media pages.

Through social media, however, there is also much disappointment among fans who have missed out on a ticket to the darts spectacle in Ally Pally. Many are complaining that bots from resale sites have bought up the tickets en masse and are trying to sell them at extortionate prices. However, the PDC has been making efforts for years to get these tickets off the market, and later resell them themselves at regular prices.

The playing dates for the World Darts Championship were recently announced. Starting December 15, the battle for the world title will begin and Alexandra Palace will be transformed into the Valhalla for every darts fan. As every year, the World Darts Championship is divided into three periods. From Sunday, December 15 to Monday, December 23, the matches from the first and second rounds will be played. Traditionally the defending champion comes into action on opening night, so defending world champion Luke Humphries can already circle Dec. 15 in his calendar.

After December 23, the tournament will be halted for three days for the traditional Christmas break. The remaining 32 players will return to London from Friday, December 27. From December 27 to Monday, December 30, the third round and fourth round are scheduled.

There will be no play on December 31 so that the remaining players can celebrate the New Year. With eight players, we will enter the new year. The quarterfinals will take place on Wednesday, January 1, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, January 2. The final of the World Darts Championship 2025 will be on Friday, January 3.
