Titles for Gary Mawson, Stowe Buntz and David Cameron on CDC Tour

Last weekend, three tournaments were played on the CDC Tour. This circuit is open to darters from North America. The titles went to Gary Mawson, Stowe Buntz and David Cameron.

The first tournament of the weekend in the state of Illinois was a triumph for Mawson, who caused an insane surprise in 2008 by reaching the UK Open final. At the time, he lost to James Wade.

This time, Mawson did win a final. Among others, he defeated David Cameron (6-4) and Jake Womack (7-5) to reach the final. Then Mawson took the title with a 7-4 win over Jeff Springer. The next tournament also had an American winner. Buntz showed success by defeating Jake Womack (6-0), Jim Long (6-0), Gary Mawson (7-6) and Jacob Taylor (7-5), among others.

Cameron took the final title of the weekend. He handled Gary Mawson (6-5) and Jim Long (7-2) to qualify for the final. Therein awaited compatriot Jeff Smith. The Silencer was then swept aside 7-6.

The CDC circuit in 2024 consists of 14 tournaments, five of which have now been played. The best Canadian and best American on the CDC Order of Merit will receive an invitation to the World Darts Championship. Currently, David Cameron leads the list with 54 points, while Jeff Smith is the second Canadian with 35 points. Stowe Buntz is currently the highest-ranked American with 38 points. He is currently one point ahead of compatriot Gary Mawson.
