In the top-10 of highest averages at the UK Open are only three names. Phil Taylor is responsible for seven of the ten highest averages, including one that was a world record for a long time.
The 16-time world champion beat Kevin Painter (9-0) with 118.66 average during the 2010 edition. This average was the world record during a television tournament from 5 June 2010 until 25 February 2016. That record was then broken by Van Gerwen, who posted an average of 123.40 during the 2016 Premier League Darts.
With further averages of 115.62, 115.51, 114.54, 113.05, 111.67 and 110.72, Taylor has often excelled at the FA Cup of Darts. Michael van Gerwen (114.91 and 110.81) and Peter Wright (110.88) also have a place in the top-10.
