The World Darts Championship is currently not being played for a few days due to the Christmas break. It gives us a chance to look back once again at Monday night's memorable match when Ricky Evans won 3-2 over Dave Chisnall. at that match, by the way, there were familiar people sitting in Alexandra Palace.
The match between Evans and Chisnall had everything to delight the audience at Alexandra Palace. High finishes, miscalculations and enormous tension raised the atmosphere in the London darts temple to a climax.
In the end, it was Evans who won the deciding set 6-5 to take the sheet and thus may return to action after the Christmas break. A noted spectator at Alexandra Palace was England's top football star Leah Williamson. She led Sarina Wiegman's team to the 2022 European title thanks to a decisive goal.
Top favorite
“I've played a world class darts player and it's nice to say I've won a game and played well. Normally it's poo,' Evans told Sky Sports. 'What am I doing the other 11 months of the year?”
Evans could hardly believe his status as a crowd favorite, saying, "'I don't get this treatment in my household. Why are they cheering me on - 'Ricky Evans, Ricky Evans' - I don't understand it.”
'Rapid' will return to action after the Christmas break on Sunday night, December 29. Then he will take on Robert Owen in the third round. For Evans, it is already the sixth time he has been in the third round of the World Championship, however, he never advanced.
