The PDC World Championship returns tomorrow after its Christmas break but it has gleamed a lot of shocks so far which we take a look at.

Sky Sports have compiled a list of the top five in all over the first period of the 2020 PDC World Championship and you can view them below.

Fallon becomes Queen of the Palace

In what wasn't a surprise, Fallon Sherrock is top of the list. The Milton Keynes ace became the first woman ever to win a match at the PDC World Championship.
That run isn't over though as the 25 year old followed up victory over Ted Evetts with one over one of the top players in PDC darts Mensur Suljovic, can it continue tomorrow against Chris Dobey?

Barney says farewell to the Palace

Sherrock's win brought jubilation to the Palace while Raymond van Barneveld bowed out with a whimper losing 3-1 to Darin Young.
Van Barneveld though instead of just giving praise to his opponent and the crowd, spoke afterwards to certain sections of the media about how life no longer had meaning for him and that he could never forgive himself for this defeat.

Smith downed by Woodhouse

Next up is Michael Smith who went into this year's tournament as one of the favourites. Despite that though he was knocked out at the first hurdle.
Last year's finalist was dumped out by the impressive Luke Woodhouse but for the latter his run could not continue as despite a valiant effort with the flu, he couldn't defeat Dimitri van den Bergh.

Huybrechts stuns 2018 World Champion, Cross

As well as Smith and Woodhouse came another shock with Kim Huybrechts beating the 2018 World Champion, Rob Cross in straight sets.
The joke was made afterwards when the power went in the Palace about Cross helping and he offered his services as a result of heading home early.

Beaton reaches Last 16 for first time in 15 years with victory over Wade

One win that was also brilliantly received was Steve Beaton. The Bronzed Adonis is a true fans favourite and faced James Wade who still faces boo's from the crowd for his match against Seigo Asada a year ago but he produced brilliance against 'The Machine' reaching the last 16 for the first time in 15 years.
He could even reach the Quarter-Finals for the first time in his illustrious career and has a good chance of doing so when he faces Darius Labanauskas.
