Top Ten highest PDC World Championship match averages

Ahead of the 2020 PDC World Championship, we look at the top ten highest averages in the history of the tournament.

Michael van Gerwen leads the way in the 2017 PDC World Championship semi-final when he defeated Raymond van Barneveld in a 6-2 win where he averaged 114.05.

Phil Taylor is second in his 6-1 victory over Shayne Burgess back all the way in 2002 which held the record for some time and saw him hit an average of 111.21.

He is also next up on the list with 110.94 during the 2009 final against Raymond van Barneveld when he ended up defeating him in a 7-1 victory in what many call one of the best finals of all time.

Michael van Gerwen is also on the list multiple more times with 109.23 and 108.65 with victories over Darren Webster and James Wilson back in 2016 and 2018 respectively.

Phil Taylor also appears twice more on the list with other high averages of 109.00 and 108.80 back in 2007 and 2009 with victories over Mick McGowan and Co Stompé.
