Updated Players Championship Order of Merit after eight events: Aspinall finishes weekend first, Telnekes into top 20

The latest Players Championship weekend saw two established winners come out of a fairly depleted field at the Barnsley Metrodome and now we take a look at the Order of Merit updated after the action was completed.

Nathan Aspinall won the first Players Championship event of the weekend and his second of the year and as a result, he goes top of the standings by just over £1,000 ahead of Peter Wright.

Ian White won the second event and his first of the year to continue his brilliance on the ProTour and as a result, he displaced Michael van Gerwen who lost to Nathan Aspinall on the first day and following that, Maik Kuivenhoven at the very first hurdle.

As a result Van Gerwen went one position down to fifth. Krzysztof Ratajski who had to exit out of the weekend on the Saturday due to Coronavirus fears and potentially not getting a flight home moved down to sixth with White going up.

Gary Anderson also went down as James Wade surged into seventh after reaching the final on the Sunday. Brendan Dolan despite reaching the final on Saturday and going seventh could only add £500 onto his total on the requisite day so is ninth.

Further down, Derk Telnekes who had an excellent weekend reaching a Quarter-Final and Semi-Final is up into the top 20 after only eight events on the PDC ProTour, a player to potentially look out for?
