Raymond van Barneveld's farewell tour has continued into the semi-finals of the NZ Darts Masters after he defeated Daryl Gurney in Hamilton.
Van Barneveld saw Gurney off in an 8-6 victory with a 94.7 average and 57 percent on the doubles to book a semi-final against James Wade.
Gurney had the upper hand to begin the tie with him going 2-1 in front but Van Barneveld was handed a reprieve with the Dutch legend taking advantage of him busting a 52 checkout to make it 2-2.
'Superchin' though went back in front breaking 'Barney's throw and going 3-2 up in the process.
Van Barneveld finally edged himself into the lead at 4-3 up but once again he couldn't ascertain a foothold ahead in this tie. This went all the way to 6-6 and as a result the tie was likely to go to the distance.
'Barney' though went one away meaning he definitely had the upperhand of sorts. As a result he used that to claim the tie in the requisite leg to continue his mini revival on his farewell tour.
