Van Barneveld occupies second place in updated European Q-School Order of Merit after Day Two

The second day of action is complete at European Q-School with Geert Nentjes claiming the second outright Tour Card of the week from Niedernhausen but it was also a day that had a bearing on the Order of Merit.
During this year's European Q-School alongside those who claim the four outright spots, eight more are available through the Order of Merit which will conclude at the end of the four days.
For fans of Raymond van Barneveld, there is good news as the five-time World Champion sits second on the Order of Merit with six points. It is expected based on current calculations that eight points will be enough after four days.
Just one more Last 16 appearance will likely do it for the doyen of Dutch darts and he has achieved it on two days so far. On Sunday he lost to Martin Schindler in that round who was excellent and on Monday, eventual winner Nentjes was two strong.
As a result of Nentjes falling off the Order of Merit after his win, Zoran Lerchbacher sits top and 'The Hypercane' looks a dead certain to return to the tour.
Martin Schindler and Boris Koltsov still have a bit of work to do but sit with five points followed by Mario Vandenbogaerde. Gino Vos, Lorenzo Pronk and Michael Unterbuchner currently have four points. While Ryan de Vreede sits just outside of the top eight due to a worse leg difference.

- Not a Dobey fan at all but it’s bizarre that the winner of 3 Players Championship rounds does not qualify ahead of any runner up. The GSOD seems to be going the same way as footballs Champions League with a lot of non winners. The old football European Cup was a tournament of winners. GSOD should be for winners only and by tournament prestige and if it’s ranked.
