Van Barneveld whitewashes out-of-sorts White, Lukeman breezes past home hero Clemens

Raymond van Barneveld and Martin Lukeman are the final players through to round two at the German Darts Open in Jena after easing past Ian White and Gabriel Clemens respectively.

Van Barneveld thrashed White in a whitewash win in which 'Diamond' averaged only 79 and missed all nine darts of double throughout the tie.

This compared to a 91 average and 6/10 from the doyen of Dutch Darts who will face a fellow multiple World Champion in the next round in Peter Wright.

While it was a similarly emphatic win for Lukeman as he breezed past Clemens in a 6-1 win averaging 103.5 in the process defying a 107.3 average from the home favourite who joins Lukas Wenig this evening in heading out.

The difference maker was the doubles as 'Smash' hit 6/9 with a highest checkout of 100 compared to 1/4 from Clemens and now a familiar face for Lukeman in Rob Cross now awaits.
