Van den Bergh edges past Anderson in hard fought battle to remain top of Premier League table

Dimitri van den Bergh has stayed top of the Premier League Darts table after edging past Gary Anderson in a hard fought battle as his brilliant form continues in the darting roadshow.

Anderson could have produced a different result but missed a staggering 22 darts at doubles including four in the final leg and Van den Bergh took advantage.

Costly missed doubles began the tie for Anderson as Van den Bergh went into the madhouse for a 3-1 lead.

But 'The Dreammaker' faltered on the doubles this time around and Anderson stepped in to trail 4-2 and he made it 4-3 after taking out 77 after potentially being 5-1 down.

Van den Bergh regained his two leg cushion after Anderson made it 11 darts at doubles and it was 5-3 but he still couldn't streak towards the finishing line as Anderson hit a 12-darter for parity and made it 5-5.

Anderson squandered five darts to seal a point himself and Van den Bergh hit double eight to break throw and lead 6-5. From there, Anderson missed further darts for a draw and Van den Bergh took advantage to claim a full points haul.
