The action continues on Day One of the 2022 Masters with Dimitri van den Bergh and Joe Cullen both producing eye catching displays in Milton Keynes.

Van den Bergh saw off Ian White with a quality 6-1 win averaging 105.3 and taking out 167 en route with three 180's and 50% on the doubles.

It was all breaks to begin the tie as Van den Bergh crashed in a 167 checkout on the bull to begin proceedings and he went 2-1 up after White missed the chance to hold.

Van den Bergh hit back-to-back 180’s and went seven darts into a perfect leg but after hitting treble 15, he went into the single 20 but he returned on double 18 checkout for the first hold of the match and to take it 3-1 up.

He once again took his chances with a 108 checkout to make it 4-1. He missed bull for a 124 checkout to hold and go one away but returned with White unable to get double 20 in a 140.

He sealed the tie though with White unable to hit a 90 checkout and he was back for double 14.

While for Cullen, it was similarly impressive as he eased past Daryl Gurney 6-2 with a 99.2 average, four 180's and 50% on the doubles.

Cullen broke throw on double 20 to begin the tie. He followed that up on double two to hold throw. Gurney got off the mark with an 80 checkout. Cullen missed 113 to hold and Gurney returned for double eight to break back and put it back on throw.

But that break was cancelled out as Cullen hit double 20 to go 3-2 up. He began on his throw with a 180 and hit double 16 to make it 4-2.

Gurney hit a 180 but saw Cullen miss the bull for a 130. He missed two on an 80 checkout and Cullen hit double eight to break and go one away at 5-2. A 140 leave left 44 for Cullen for the win. He pinned double eight to do so.
