Dimitri van den Bergh has produced the performance of the tournament so far by defeating Lourence Ilagan 3-0 with a statement display at the PDC
World Darts Championship.
Van den Bergh will return after Christmas with a 97.2 average, 53% on the doubles and after a close second set, he produced when it mattered most in the final set with a 164 to win. Superb from 'The Dreammaker'.
Van den Bergh breezed through the opening set without dropping a leg while the second set was a lot more close.
Ilagan took out a 120 checkout to draw level and was throwing at 2-2 for the set after a break. But despite that, Van den Bergh took out 36 to seal the set and go one away.
Van den Bergh held on double eight to open the third set. He missed 124 initially but returned for double 11 to go one away from victory. He sealed it in style with a 164 checkout on the bull.
