Van der Voort brushes aside Menzies in straight sets win at PDC World Darts Championship

Vincent van der Voort will return after Christmas at the PDC World Darts Championship after brushing aside Cameron Menzies in a 3-0 win.

Van der Voort will now face Luke Humphries in a quick fire tie after wrapping up a straight sets win over the Scot with a 90 average, a sole 180 but 12 140's and 56.3% on the outer ring which proved pivotal.

It was a dream start for Van der Voort who coasted to the opening set in consecutive legs with a 104.5 average and was giving the fans a treat after they chanted his name on the walk-on.

It was missed doubles that indeed became the achilles heel for Menzies at the back end of the second set with Van der Voort pinning a 121 checkout en route to going 2-0 up.

Menzies seemingly was on his way to a set back going 2-1 up and beginning his revival but he missed multiple set darts and after missing 125 on double 20 for 2-2, Van der Voort picked his pocket to make it 2-2 and was throwing for the match which he sealed on double 20.
