Van Duijvenbode dethrones champion Clayton to set up final clash with Price at World Series of Darts Finals

Dirk van Duijvenbode has reached a third TV final in his career. In the semi-final of the World Series of Darts Finals, he defeated Jonny Clayton 11-8 leading to a clash with Gerwyn Price in the final.

Van Duijvenbode quickly took the initiative with a 13-darter and a 100 finish. A second break followed in the eleventh leg, when he made it 7-4 with a 76 finish. However, it was then a matter of caution for 'Aubergenius', who suddenly saw Clayton come back to 7-7.

Clayton, however, failed to take the lead. Van Duijvenbode did so with a 52 check-out and thanks to a 13-darter and a 14-darter to make it 10-8. A bad own leg by Clayton allowed the Dutchman to finish it off in the 21st leg, which Van Duijvenbode did via tops.
