Many football players are darts fans including Dutch ace, Wout Weghorst who has been seen at the Alexandra Palace previously. He even sent Dirk van Duijvenbode a message during the last World Championship.
Van Duijvenbode revealed this in the program 'Shirtje Ruilen' with Frank Evenblij. "During the World Championship, he once responded to me on Instagram. Something like 'I was jumping on the sofa. Nice man'!'', says Van Duijvenbode.
Cheeky question
The Westlander then talked to Weghorst and decided to take the plunge. "I thought I'd ask a cheeky question if he didn't mind trading a set of darts for a shirt."
That Weghorst complied with that request was apparent in the video Van Duijvenbode showed the green Wolfsburg shirt with Weghorst's signature on it and the inscription 'For the Aubergenius! Keep pumping.'
